Microsoft have released some details of the next gen Zune, It’s going to be called the Zune HD and supports a lovely OLED screen. Microsoft have released this press release:
Available in the US this fall, Zune HD is the first portable media player that combines a built-in HD Radio re ceiver, high-definition (HD) video output capabilities, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) touch screen, Wi-Fi and an Internet browser.
It’s going to support HD Radio, which is only currently available in the US, and it puts DAB to shame with over 2,000 stations broadcasting on HD Radio. Major car manufactures like Audi, BMW and Ford all build in HD Radio by default.
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the Zune HD will be making it over to the UK, SImply because we don’t have as strong of a digital radio network as the US do. They could build DAB into it I guess, But DAB is useless most of the time with quality differing and only a handful of stations broadcasting on it here in the UK.
Looks like we’ll just have to stick with our iPods! Oh well!

Yes, You heard me! A full years worth of live goodness is on sale for $29.97 in a major online shop over in the states. Usually it’s a fearce $50 for the full year over in the US. Much like our £40 charge over here in the UK. So what are the Microsoft Monkeys doing? Is this price staying? Is this a sign of things to come? And most importantly, Is it coming over to the UK? We’ll find out soon enough I guess!
