We nearly got hit by a asteroid yesterday. The 30-50 meter asteroid passed seven times closer than the moon to us yesterday. It was apparently so bright you could see it through clouds.

Forget MySpace, Why not just create your own social network for you and your mates? Well Elgg is the simple way to do this. You can simply install it on your server if you meet all the requirements which quite frankly every proper host should have. Elgg pretty much has most features of your usual SN (Social Network). It has your own users profile, dashboard, activity feed, user preferences, admin tools, blogging, forums, file repository and social bookmarking. I personally haven’t installed it yet but by the looks of the screenshots (Bellow) it looks pretty fantastic and if you have a web server of your own why not? Have your own network of your friends or maybe even try and take over the SN world with your new network! Here’s some screenies:

Well gizmodo has just posted this image of a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) at the olympic opening ceremony, which I must say was FANTASTIC.
