So today Apple announced some lovely new tech for us all to drool over. The rumoured 24th of March event was obviously all a load of hot air. To be honest, I don’t think it deserved a event! Even Apple couldn’t have strung this out! In a overall summary not much has changed!
So the iMac has been given noting more than a bit of a hardware change, Which in a ideal world, yes it needs. But the only physical difference is that there is no longer a wired keyboard. Why? I couldn’t say, Maybe they were having a load of trouble with the wireless ones. The new iMacs boast twice the memory and twice the storage. Also Apple have continued to build in the MiniDisplay Port as seen in the MacBook update back in January. I think that the iMac was the leading design for everything else in the Mac line, like the new MacBooks, and I really don’t think it needs that much of a update but then again some of you will disagree. The new and improved flavour starts at £949, Which is cheaper than the MacBook I’m typing on
The well speculated Mac Mini got a update too. It’s had the now standard NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card banged into it and of course the MiniDisplay Port. Its also had some extra USB ports slapped on and it also uses 13 Watts less power, Great… But sadly the price has gone up to £499 which a lot of Apple boys aren’t happy about!
Probably the biggest thing to come out of these announcements is the update of the Mac Pro. It has a Intel “Nehalem” Xeon processor inside. Which is probably the mother of all processors. They’ve also re-vamped the inside of the new Pro and also put a lovely new NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 graphics card in there just for good measure. It goes without saying that there’s also a MiniDisplay Port! Starting out with the base model at a ‘very affordable’ price of £1,899!
