Forget MySpace, Why not just create your own social network for you and your mates? Well Elgg is the simple way to do this. You can simply install it on your server if you meet all the requirements which quite frankly every proper host should have. Elgg pretty much has most features of your usual SN (Social Network). It has your own users profile, dashboard, activity feed, user preferences, admin tools, blogging, forums, file repository and social bookmarking. I personally haven’t installed it yet but by the looks of the screenshots (Bellow) it looks pretty fantastic and if you have a web server of your own why not? Have your own network of your friends or maybe even try and take over the SN world with your new network! Here’s some screenies:

Facebook posted yesterday a update on there App for the iPhone or iPod Touch. The new facebook app update brings lot’s of great features. The new update basically brings the full facebook experience. You can now see everything in your friend updates. You used to only see status updates and album updates. Now you can see all the updates like you would at facebook.com. Profiles have now been brought up to date with the new design on the site. Your profile is now on tabs with a combintaion of your wall and mini feed. Facebook say it has been a popular request to search and apporve friends. This has now been added. Also in the first version your inbox could only display 30 messages but now you can see all your messages! Anyway check out the gallery:

Well Hello Again!

We’ve now moved over to technoblast.co.uk and a new server. A few things are changing around here but thee slowely been introduced. I must appologise because there hasn’t been a Podcast for a while now. We have been moving files and so on and haven’t had time. Plus soon enough our Podcast will be built into the site with a little help from our good friends over at Mighty Seek. This new little plugin will alow us to put video’s into our podcast and post the podcasts quicker and easier than ever! It’s defiantly something to look forward to! Well gizmodo has just posted this image of a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) at the olympic opening ceremony, which I must say was FANTASTIC. This is what happens when windows likes to be at its best whilst in the middle of one of the worlds most watched events! So I decided that I’d search the web for windows at its best. Just as we are told of another call of duty title, call of duty 5 :world at war, all ready they have call of duty 6 in the pipe! This time made by the masters themselves, the creators of cod 4, infinity ward! You mite ask yourself, what next, vietnam? no! Modern war again? No! Future war! Rumours going around that its going to be a science fiction shooter! Dont believe every rumour you hear though. Due to come in 2009!

Well I must say out of all the rumours that fly around the web like a pesky fly, this is the one thats got me quite excited! According to the Daily Mail, Apple is prepping to launch a iPhone Nano Or Mini around Christmas. Not exciting I hear you cry! Try £150 on pay-as-you-go! Got you excited? It did me! There’s one problem… I’m on a 18 Month contract with the 3 Network! Nevermind! On another note you can see the mock up I have made at the top of the page but I honestly can’t picture a small iPhone! One expert said the nano iPhone would have a touch wheel on the back and display on the front so that numbers would be dialled from behind a bit like th LG Viewty. Will they chop out features? Will they not built in 3G or GPS? Or will they scrap the camera? I think if Apple decide to do it, It wont be just a small version of the traditional iPhone.
